What is Obamacare? What does the ACA mean for me?
It means that you now may qualify for subsidized insurance plans. It also means that there are new ACA Marketplaces for insurance plans for Texas that allow you to compare plans and purchase health insurance.
If you do not purchase any type of insurance, you now will receive a tax penalty. In 2014, you’ll have to pay a penalty of $95 per adult, $47.50 per child, or 1% of your income (whichever is higher).
